Is your web site valid

The same as a good head chef or good project manager would have a certain standard that he or she would work to and control the quality of their work, the same goes for good web design. A good web designer will check that the “code” or “markup” is valid and complies to current web standards. As a client you might not be aware of this.

There are many tools that you can use to check your website but the most common and easiest to use is over on the W3C website. If you are unsure if your website is valid and the markup complies with current web standards why not check yourself.

1. All you have to do is punch in your website address.

2. Click ‘Check’.

If it is valid you will see the passed message at the end. If not you should consult your web designer to get the markup fixed as it may prevent your website showing correctly on someone’s computer which could damage your reputation.
