How to install wordpress and create a website!

I have a website…… So you do but, can you up date and add content easily to your website free of charge? Did you know that you could up date your website and add new content for free. No longer will you receive over inflated invoices from your web designer, with “oh, oo, ah, that’s going to be difficult to achieve without lots of my time!”

Here’s an idea – using what is called a ‘content management system’ you can easily add, update, change and keep your website up to date without unnecessary cost by installing WordPress.

WordPress was originally developed as a blogging platform but has become a very powerful and popular web developers publishing platform… don’t worry about what that means for now – let’s just say it’s the best thing on the market right now if you need to manage your own website!

Anyone can grab a free or premium WordPress theme from the internet very easily, in-fact why don’t you go and do it right now (if you need one that is)… you will find something you like the look of without any problem but, it will not be unique.

Because these are either premium or free themes the chances are that someone is already using it and the more people that use the same theme the less likely you are to stand out from the crowd.

One of Square One’s unique selling points or ‘USP’ is that we can create bespoke websites that not only look completely different to a usual WordPress theme, ie a very blog looking website, we can creatively design something unique and fresh that is specific to your particular requirements. This will not only make your website unique but also, stand out from the crowd and your competition.

There are a number of benefits to using WordPress  –  not only because of it’s ease of use but, because of it’s massive popularity, there are a plethora of really easy to install and use plugin’s that add additional functionality to a website. This means it is so easy and cost effective to add those really complicated ‘Event calendars’, ‘Forums’, ‘Calendars’, ‘Newsletter Sign ups’, ‘Shopping Basket’s’ and many more… far too many to mention…!

Also, it is worth mentioning that because of a recent upgrade to WordPress (3.0) it has become even easier for you to manage your website. If you are using social media as a marketing tool (and you should be!) then an easy to update website is a must!
